What is Automated Picking?
One of the most repetitive and time-consuming processes in a warehouse is the picking process. It is usually very dependent on warehouse personnel and can potentially lead to manual errors. This process is now being automated using warehouse automation robots combined with modular shelving and Artificial Intelligence tools.
Automated picking or autonomous warehouse picking is the implementation of robotic or semi-robotic technologies that enhance the work of human pickers. Automated order picking solutions reduce walking times, shorten sorting times, optimize picking routes, and enable accurate picking and packaging. Enterprises across industries such as e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, transportation, consumer goods, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and more are embracing robotic automation to optimize warehouse operations and streamline picking and sorting processes.
Benefits of implementing automated picking
